About Your Teachers
Welcome to the LE1 Classroom!
My name is Jo Ann Curcuru and I will be your child's teacher this year! I graduated from West Chester University, receiving a dual Bachelor's Degree in Early Grades Preparation PreK-4 and Special Education PreK-8. This will be my 8th year teaching at BCMCS.
I was enrolled at the Barrie Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies and have received my Montessori Lower Elementary Teaching Certification. I have previously taught as a Cooperating Inclusion Teacher in Upper Elementary as well as Lower Elementary as both an assistant, and a Virtual Lead Montessori Teacher. This will be my 4th year as the Lead Montessori Teacher in LE1.
I am a recent attending Graduate of Wilkes University obtaining my Master's degree in Science of Education, received my Instructional II Certification, and will receive my Reading Specialist Certification this upcoming Fall.
I enjoy spending time with immediate and extended family, including my parents, two sisters, grandparents, and my fiance, Mike. I have three wonderful cats named Ollie, Twyla, and Cosmo who have kept me entertained all summer. I have a love for music, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. I'm looking forward to learning and growing with your children this year!
My name is Anne Freeman, and I will be the assistant in your child's classroom this year. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Special Education from The University of Tennessee. I have worked at BCMCS for many years in Kindergarten with Mrs. Russell. I am now part of the Lower Elementary Team, as this will be my 3rd year in LE1.
I am married and live nearby with my husband, Erik and our cat, Hemingway. We have two grown daughters, both of which graduated from BCMCS. Kirsten is a Physical Therapist and Kati is a professional dancer traveling the country on tour.
I am an avid reader, enjoy road trips, and spending time outdoors. My dad and I have just obtained a teardrop trailer and I am looking forward to travelling the country, especially visiting the US National Parks.
